This year for Christmas we have decided to incorporate the "three gift" observance. This idea has been presented in a number of ways but the one I like the best is that Jesus was given three gifts while still a child. We have decided to keep this tradition, especially as our family is growing and buying all sorts of gifts will be neither practical nor will it help us focus on the main reason for the Christmas season.
These three gifts have a theme:
Something you need...Something you want...and Something sentimental.
For the something sentimental I decided on mother/daughter journals for each of my daughters. It is a simple gift that will keep on giving throughout the year. It won't be something that is forgotten about and stuck in the back of the closet.
The idea is that the journals will be special books just between me and them. We will be able to share special mother daughter moments and writings back and forth over time.
I really look forward to sharing this book with each of them over the year.
